An initial evaluation is conducted by a licensed clinician in order to determine how best to utilize neurofeedback for each patient. Additional testing is available for patients who have not been previously diagnosed.

 

 

We are enthusiastic about our success with neurofeedback here at FOCUS. However, we recognize that neurofeedback is not a cure-all, nor is it going to work for everyone. Every patient we see is unique and requires a thorough assessment and a personalized treatment plan. We therefore invite interested individuals, parents or family members to call and request a free 1/2 hour consultation with one of our clinicians. We use this time to more fully explain our service, to answer your questions and to demonstrate our equipment.

 

Each of our clinicians are experienced psychotherapists licensed in the state of North Carolina. We have training in a variety of treatment modalities and may combine more traditional forms of psychotherapy with neurofeedback where requested or clinically indicated.

 

 

Most initial evaluations will require approximately an hour and a half to complete. Some evaluations may require additional time. Subsequent neurofeedback appointments will vary in length from 1/2 hour to 1 hour, once to twice a week, depending upon your treatment need. Each appointment is conducted by a licensed psychotherapist trained in neurotherapy. The total number of sessions required will vary for each patient according to the treatment goals established.

 

 

Some insurance companies will reimburse patients for neurofeedback treatment. Some insurance companies will only reimburse for neurofeedback if it targets specific disorders.
